As Chief Creative Officer and Director of Strategic Development at Backe, Gary Kopervas is a product of today’s evolving marketing environment. He’s a pure “ampersand personality.” Strategist & storyteller. Researcher & writer. Brand marketer & business mind. Blue-sky dreamer & bottom line realist. Able to create in both traditional and digital space, Gary applies a holistic mindset to solving clients’ problems and growing their business. He began his career at Ogilvy & Mather in New York as a writer on the American Express and AT&T business. It was here he learned the discipline of brand orchestration and the value of consumer insights as a way to build powerful long-term relationships with consumers. He’s also worked at Della Famine McNamee WCRS on a range of consumer-packaged goods including Lean Cuisine, Taster’s Choice and Stouffer’s frozen foods. After a long run with global, regional and local ad agencies, Gary worked as an independent consultant in the areas of brand development and new product innovation. Working with some of the most recognizable marketers in the world, including Absolut Vodka, Yahoo!, Novartis, Pizza Hut and Cadbury-Schweppes, Gary has facilitated hundreds of ideation sessions in the U.S., Europe, Canada and the Caribbean. He was part of teams that created such new products as Pizza Hut’s 4-for-all Pizza and a successful line of sports apparel for the NFL. Gary combines the passion of a proven writer and the discipline of a seasoned brand marketer. As part of the Backe team, Gary helps guide clients and their brands to new levels of success.
